Save the Euclid School - A Rally for Preservation
Wed, Jun 24
|1131 N Euclid Ave
SLPS recently voted to demolish the historic and irreplaceable Euclid School in Fountain Park, despite the fact that an interested developer offered to buy the building to rehab it. We believe this building is more valuable than another empty lot.

About the event
A rally to save the historic Euclid School, designed by architects Kirchner and Kirchner in 1893 as a one story school house, and expanded into the current structure in 1895. This school is a great example of Romanesque Revival architecture, and should be a top priority for preservation. A developer has shown interest in the building, but the school board recently denied their proposal in favor of demolition. This rally is to show that we’re interested in its preservation, and have not given up on Euclid School. With this rally, it is expected that everyone stays on public sidewalks and is peaceful. Even though this is an upsetting situation, we must keep our composure and be professional.
