Celebrate the Saucer!

Tuesday, July 05, 2011

The beloved Midtown saucer, most recently known as Del Taco, is threatened by the wrecking ball.  This structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is an iconic vestige from the space-age 1960s.  A visionary tenant could bring it to new life.  We're throwing a party in honor of this unique building.

Bring your friends, family, signs and enthusiasm to celebrate for this one-of-a-kind mothership!  This is NOT a protest-- it's a LOVE fest!  Let's come together to promote PRESERVATION, over demolition!

Positive signs only!

WHAT: Save Our Saucer (SOS) Celebration
WHEN: Wednesday, July 6th - 6pm-8pm
WHERE: S.E. corner of Grand & Forest Park Pkwy, in front of the Del Taco saucer
WHY: Because we need to stop destroying the distinctive architecture that makes St. Louis special!

I saw your letter to the editor and could not agree more. Why don't you get a group to buy the "Saucer" and do as you propose, since the current owner is not interested in saving it.
